Palahi has the privilege and grace of having the touch of the pious feet of Guru Hargobind and his son Guru Teg Bahadur. The time when Guru Hargobind visited Palahi, Guru Teg Bahadur accompanied him who had not yet gone in seclusion dungeon for meditation. He took part in the battle here with his father. Afterwards the seventh Guru Har Rai also visited Palahi.

The Institute was set up in 1986. At the initial stage the major areas of its work was: Manpower Development & Training Transfer of Technology, & Dissemination of Information. At present the Institute imparts tarining to rural unemployed youths in various technical trades. In this age of Computer this institute started the Computer courses the promote Information Technology in Country.

The main contribution in the establishment of these institutions was of Babu Kartar Singh, S. Gulzara Singh, S. Chanda Singh, S. Darbara Singh, Bhai Harnam Singh, S. Punna Singh etc.
Singh Sabha Khalsa School Palahi was started in the village in 1917-18.
Palahi is the first village in India, where ATM Machine has been established by Axis Bank.
Punjab & Sind Bank and The Kapurthala Co-operative Soceity Bank have also opened their branches in the village.
Palahi has been selected as energy village. People of village are using some new & renewable energy equipment.
There is a big soundproof Community Hall for village and sorrounding area people
