Syllabus for Typewriting

  1. History of the invention of the typewriter. Its various commponents. Their utility. Its importance.
  2. Manupulating and fingering exercises. Division of figures; position of fingers. Light touch and its advantage. Exercises without shift key of the 3rd, 2nd and 4th rows.
  3. Manupulating of finger exercises by using the shift keys. Fingering exercises of the Ist row.
  4. One line sentence exercises both with and without shift key and joint exercises.
  5. Typing of common words. Special hand and finger exercises.
  6. Accuracy exercises with control speed. There should be one passage of about 150 words and the speed should be 15 words per minutes. should be typed 50 times.
  7. Typing of unseen passages of 15 minutes duration at one time.
  8. Use of Carbon paper for taking out more than one copy with the aid of carbon papers.
  9. Tests and Revisions
  10. Exercises of simple letters with subject heading along margin adjustments in single and double spacing with bottom and top adjustment alongwith paragraphy heading and envelop addressing.
  11. Exercises of 20 minutes duration one passage.
  12. Process of cutting stencil paper for duplicating purposes alongwith the rectification of errors on stencil paper.
  13. Typing of manuscripts, official, correspondence.
  14. Typing of manuscripts, letters in full form at the speed of 25 W.P.M.
  15. Typing of unseen passages for 20 minutes duration at 30 W.P.M.
  16. Typing of official letters and noting for 10 minutes duration at 35 words per minute
